According to the results of the first stage of the XV Russian competition of innovative developments RosBioTech–2021, 9 TSU innovations in the field of bio- and agrotechnologies were awarded gold medals. Medals and diplomas were presented to TSU research teams led by Ekaterina Marchenko, Gulsharat Baigonakova, Marina Efimova, Irina Golovatskaya, and Vladimir Kuznetsov.
Biotechnology forum RosBioTech-2021 was organized as part of the Year of Science and Technology in Russia. The major topic was innovative biotechnologies in medicine, industry and agriculture, as well as international scientific and technical cooperation as the basis for sustainable development of the country’s economy.
The results were summed up in Moscow in a hybrid format, and the competition commission announced 48 best innovations. The RosBioTech Expert Council made a specific mention of materials and coatings for new generation implants developed in TSU, as well as joint projects with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Timiryazev Institute of Plant Physiology RAS in the field of biotechnology and agricultural technology.
The trends of the research presented by TSU scientists at the forum are in line with the strategic project Engineering Biology 2.0, which is being implemented by Tomsk State University as part of the federal program Priority 2030, which will ensure a technological breakthrough in advanced areas of biotechnology.
